Clare Jamal O’Brien
Welcome!
Hello, my name is Clare Jamal O’Brien. I am originally from the small town of Homer in Alaska. I left Alaska when I was 17 years old in order to do a Baha’i Youth Year of service in East Africa and I never ended up moving home. I decided to stay and go to university at a local villiage university in Tanzania so I could help help contribute to building a new world based on writings of Baha’u’llah. I could have choosen to do this any place in the entire world… and people are doing it all over. I choose to do it there because I saw that there was a need that I had the skills to contribute towards.
This blog is called football and faith because until 6 months ago I was doing my PhD in Medical Sciences and Football… exploring how spiritual education when combined with football team can contribute to the betterment of the world. Talk about an amazing profession!! However I decided to put my studies on hold and serve full time as the junior youth coordinator for England instead. I am very happy with this choice… and so thankful that I had the opportunity to make it!
This blog is an opprotunity for me to communicate my love, experiences and expressions of what I go through as I labor to build this new world. It is also an open invitation for you dear reader to join me and collaborate with me in building it! I don’t know what else I should share about myself here.
If you wish to contact me my e-mail address is clare.odiero@gmail.com.
